A former Leeds church is to be reimagined to create a new ‘people’s palace for poetry’ spearheaded by the Poet laureate, Simon Armitage. Gagarin Studio have supported the steering group from the early days, to identify a suitable site and undertaken a feasibility for the repurposed Trinity St Davids on Woodhouse Lane, in Leeds. \n Millom Iron Line International Competition Win<\/a>\n <\/div>\n \n\t\t\t\t\t

We are delighted to announce that Gagarin Studio alongside landscape architects, Layer Studio, \u00a0have won the competition to sensitively develop the beautiful coastal Iron Line at Millom, Cumbria into a recreational attraction that unites ecology, heritage and culture. The Jury Panel included representatives from the Millom Town Board, the RSPB and Copeland Borough Council, supported by independent technical expertise from Jolyon Brewis of Grimshaw; Kate Bailey, Trustee of the Landscape Institute and a member of the NW Design Review Panel; and Aldo Rinaldi the project’s Art Curator.\u00a0 A total of 21 landscape and architectural teams entered the international competition to […]<\/p>\n <\/div>\n \n <\/div>\n<\/div>

We\u2019re delighted to be working with Arvon\u00a0to undertake an ambitious reworking of their\u00a0Yorkshire Writing House, Lumb Bank near Hebden Bridge. The ambition is to reposition Lumb Bank as an engine house for creative writing development in the north of England.\u00a0 The house, which once belonged to Ted Hughes, was described by novelist Louise Doughty as \u2018the most inspiring place imaginable for writers\u2019. IOU Theatre are an established International arts organisation who have relocated into Victoria Mill at the Dean Clough Complex. The phased project creates a new permanent gallery and exhibition space within Dean Clough; housing the IOU archive and a changing exhibition programme, as well as a large scale IOU Studio and offices for the company.
